FREE TRIAL STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE A Complete Look at the Shein Free Trial Process

See how the main stages of the Free Trial program fit together, from finding eligible products and submitting requests to selection, delivery, and product feedback.

Independent educational guide — This page summarizes publicly available information from Shein’s Free Trial Help Center. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Shein. Participation depends on eligibility, product availability, and selection criteria. Approval and product receipt are not guaranteed. Always review the current official program terms before applying.

The Free Trial Center becomes easier to understand once you know what happens at each stage and where to find the information connected to your application.

The guide below covers how to access eligible listings, send a request, monitor application results, and complete the required product evaluation if you are selected. Following the correct steps does not guarantee acceptance.

1

Open the Free Trial Center

Sign in to your Shein account. In the app, open your profile → Other Services (or More Services) → Free Trial Center. On the website, the Free Trial section may appear under the available community or services areas.

Once you enter the section, review the products currently accepting applications. The listings may be updated regularly, so the selection can change from one visit to another.

2

Choose an eligible product and submit your application

The Free Trial program generally provides up to 3 application opportunities per week. Opportunities that are not used are usually not carried over into the next week.

When you find a qualifying product you are interested in testing:

  • Select Free Trial on the eligible listing
  • Choose the appropriate size when necessary
  • Make sure your delivery address belongs to the same country as the Shein site you are using
  • Review the information and select Submit

Before you submit: The country associated with your shipping address should match the regional version of Shein you are accessing. If they do not correspond, the application may not be processed correctly.

3

Follow your application status

A submitted request may remain under review for about one week. Open My Free Trial or My Applications to see the latest status of each application.

  • Approved — your application was selected. A qualifying order may then be created at $0 and prepared for shipment.
  • Failed — the request for that specific product was not selected. Other eligible items may be available for future applications.

4

Test the product and submit your evaluation

If you are selected and receive an eligible item, use it normally and evaluate factors such as quality, design, fit, materials, comfort, and overall construction.

After using the product, submit a genuine and detailed report through your account, preferably within 10 days after delivery. Review progress may be available under My Report.

A useful product evaluation can include:

  • Clear observations about both strengths and weaknesses
  • Photos showing the item and relevant product details
  • Comments on sizing, material, comfort, construction, and everyday use

About points: An accepted report may provide approximately 20 points, while an eligible Quality Report may provide around 100 additional points.

If the first report is not accepted, the program may offer one additional opportunity to make corrections and submit it again.

Frequently asked questions

Who generally pays for shipping?

Shipping is generally covered for qualifying Free Trial products. Customs duties or import-related costs may still vary depending on the destination country.

How many applications are usually available each week?

The program generally provides up to three applications per week. Opportunities that are not used are typically not transferred to the next week.

Can selected participants keep qualifying products?

Under the standard Free Trial process, selected participants can generally keep qualifying products after completing the required evaluation according to the applicable terms.

How long can the application review take?

The status may take approximately one week to update. Use My Free Trial or My Applications to follow submitted requests.

Can a rejected product report be corrected?

If an initial report is not accepted, the program may allow one additional submission after the necessary corrections have been made.

Do participants need a large social media following?

A large social media audience is not listed as a general requirement. Eligibility and providing genuine, useful product feedback are more relevant to the process.

The process can be viewed as a sequence: access the Free Trial Center → browse eligible products → submit applications within the weekly allowance → follow each request → if selected, receive and evaluate the product → provide the required feedback. Reviewing your account information and participation requirements before applying can make each stage easier to understand.
